Week 0 - Before the first class... Image a - Best piece of creative work This photograph was taken during my holidays in India. I was able to capture the intense and wild side of nature through the dynamic elements of photography. The colour contrast between the rocks and the waterfall further emphasises the role of nature and the beauty that lays within it. Week 5

Hero shot The above hero shot aims to convey various aspects of architecture such as contrast, nature and shadows. With the main two concepts being contrast and nature, I tried to create a sense of balance through the use of contrasting colours. The concept of nature is presented throughout: through the landscape, the shape of the building etc. Even though most of the building focuses on the shades of black and white, incorporating the colourful beams evokes a sense of balance and playfulness. The landscape aims to imply the beauty of nature regardless of the terrain. Detail shot This detailed shot conveys the idea of patterns/geometry, shadows and contrast. The aforementioned concepts are mainly highlighted through the use of the patterns on the railings, their colours and the beams. Under the stairs, the custom texture (from wk3 - ooze) can be seen. Staircase - Part 1

STAIRCASE 5 sketch up images 4 sections Section 1 and 2 of stairs 1 Stair 2 Sketch up stairs Stair 1 : Contrast : From underground to ground level. The stairs are held in a decagon shaped structure. Hence, from the exterior, the structure comprises straight lines. However, the staircase takes a curved structure, contrasting with the straight lines. Stair 2 : Nature: The staircase from Ground level to level 1 (BernabeiFreeman) takes up a natural form of against each other. The curve of the structure resembles the curve of the leaves. The symmetry of the stairs further emphasises the role of nature within architecture, metaphorically presenting the leaves over each other.
